Do I need to remember how my driving phobia started?Item Link List Item 3
How a phobia began is, for the most part, irrelevant. It’s the patterns and reactions you have now that are important.
For driving phobia, it is usually quite clear when it started. But often the event can be quite mild, like feeling a bit odd when driving on a motorway one day. It doesn't have to be dramatic. People often think it must be some sort of accident that starts the fear, but that is not the case and an accident might lead to short-lived post-traumatic stress, but not to a phobia.

I'm taking medication for my phobia. Should I stop taking it?Item Link List Item 4
No. Keep taking any medication. If you experience the expected beneficial changes in your phobia and anxiety after undertaking the program you may then want to talk to your doctor, physician or healthcare professional about stopping medication under their supervision. So keep taking any medication until your healthcare professional advises you otherwise.

Will it work if I've had therapy before?Item Link
You will find this program to be very different from other treatments. In our clinics we help many people who have tried other forms of therapy – sometimes long-term and painful therapy – for their driving phobia and are amazed that we can change things so quickly. Other therapists will deal with a whole range of issues – from weight loss to relationships – and may not have even dealt with a public speaking phobia before. We do this every day. It’s all we do. So we really understand phobias and what works and what doesn’t work.
-
